Albania’s “For Special Civil Merits” Title
In February 2016, President Bujar Nishani awarded me the title “For Special Civil Merits”. A note on what the honour recognised and why I share it with the people of BALFIN Group.
On 19 February 2016, by Decree no. 9447, President Bujar Nishani awarded me the title “For Special Civil Merits”, one of the honours the Republic of Albania gives to its citizens.
What the honour recognised
The decree brought together several parts of the same story: businesses that grew from Albania into the wider region, the many people they employ in every sector where we operate, the effort to change how Albanian entrepreneurship is seen abroad, and the humanitarian work we carry out alongside our companies.

I accepted this title on behalf of everyone who works with us at BALFIN Group. Every company we have built, from our first store in Tirana to the projects we lead across the region today, is the result of people who chose to invest their talent and their future in Albania.
Recognition from my own country carries a particular weight. It is a reminder that a business is measured not only by its results, but by the jobs it creates, the trust it earns and what it gives back to the community around it.
